The bates family

In a sense, we are products of the bus ministry. I was bused to church by my uncle in an old chevy pickup truck in the hills of WV. He would pick up pop bottles and cans alongside the road just to raise enough gas money to drive 45 minutes one way so we boys could hear about the Lord's saving grace. 

Then, he would always top it off with a pop and candy bar from the local gas station. We may not have played to many games on Sunday morning, but his sense of humor was an equal match!  Don't really remember singing songs either, but we sure did have a blast and couldn't wait until the next time.  

More importantly, I was introduced to the Greatest Man ever known to man, The Man Christ Jesus! July 1987 was the date. Left swing on an old farmhouse porch was the place.  On my knees is where I found God's AMAZING GRACE! And, it all started with God's love, an old chevy truck, a passion for souls and a willing bus driver! 

On the other hand, my wife Christina grew up as a non-practicing catholic in Eastern PA. One Saturday morning in her mid 20's, she heard a life changing knock on her door. It was the BUS CAPTAIN! 

That old bus started her journey of faith from that point on. Not only did it bring salvation years later, but it helped her to develop a love and passion for souls and the bus ministry. Who would have known that God's plan for that bus was not only for salvation but for future service unto our Master. 

We've been in different bus ministries throughout the years, and I must say that it's been worth every mile, every minute, and every dollar!!!
